senior portrait faqs

Marrone Photography is a boutique portrait studio focusing on the unique experience of each individual.  We specialize in senior portraiture mixed with vibrant and artistic imagery, allowing us to offer an experience and quality level that is unmatched in our area.  This experience results in images that are individually tailored to each and every client.

We believe that you deserve exceptional art for your home, and we strive to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will never be forgotten.

How much will portraits cost?

The portrait session and final images that you select is entirely dependent on you.  We understand that the session type that you choose is dependent on your individual style and tastes, and that each person’s image needs vary.  Depending on the session that you choose, you will have a minimum of 25-50 images or more to select from at your ordering appointment.  Our Wall Portraits start at $189 with Portrait Collections starting at $799

What is a “Consultation”?

We meet with our clients at a consultation prior to your session to go over all the details about your portrait experience.  We discuss locations, ideas, time, weather, outfits, style, collections, and all the details of the shoot and ordering appointment so that on the day of your session we are all just having fun creating amazing images.

Do I have to come in for a consultation?  Can I just book a session over the phone?

The Essential and Senior Sessions may be booked over the phone however the Senior Deluxe and Lookbook Sessions include a complimentary 30 minute consultation and we highly recommend it.  This way we can show you examples of our portrait art, and work with you one on one so that we both go into your session fully prepared. We want to ensure that your senior portrait session is everything you want and more, and we strive to make this experience one that you will never forget.

Do you photograph sessions in your studio or on location?

Both!  Most of our clients choose sessions that include indoor and outdoor locations– from urban settings to vintage fields to custom locations, we create the senior experience that YOU want.

In our studio we photograph with a variety of studio lighting best suited to your features – we want to make sure you have a variety of looks to show off your individual style.  On location we also photograph with numerous location lighting techniques – from fashion lighting to natural light and more.  Photography is the art of ‘painting with light,’ and our goal is to make you look incredible!

Can I have a session that is different from those listed?

The descriptions for each session are used as a general guideline for creating your portraits.  During your consultation, we will fine tune these to ensure that you are getting exactly the look you want.

When do I pay for my session fee and what does this cover?

Your full session fee payment is required at the time of booking. This fee is the only way to hold your appointment.  The session fee covers the time, talent, and creative fee of the portrait artist, the consultation appointment, and ordering appointment and is non-refundable.

How many outfits can I bring?

Our sessions are based on creating quality images, NOT on the number of outfits you are limited to.  In general, we can typically photograph 2-3 outfits per hour, however this is entirely dependent on you.  The more time you spend getting ready between outfits, the fewer outfits we will get to.

We encourage you to bring LOTS of options – we will assist you in selecting the best variety of looks to make your senior portrait session the best experience it can be.

When do I get to see the images from my session and place my order?

Ordering appointments are scheduled on Tuesdays - Fridays during business hours. The most important decisions in the portrait process occur during your ordering appointment. We take great pride in providing our clients with an interactive and fun way to place your order.  The ordering appointment will take place approximately 10-14 days after your portrait session. It will be scheduled at your session.  It is very important that all decision makers are present during this time, as this is the appointment where your final decisions will be made. This is a time where you will want to devote your full attention (ordering appointments take between 1 and 2 hours), we ask that you arrange for a babysitter for children under the age of 12. At your ordering appointment we will present your images in a gorgeous slideshow, and we will then help you select the images, groupings, books, and frames suitable for your home, office and for gifts for friends and family. We specialize in helping you select the best images and display presentations, and feel this process is a very important service that we can offer to our clients.

When is payment due for my order?

We require 50% of your order total before ANY part of the order is started.  Your order must be paid for in full before ANY portion of your order is picked up.  Balances must also be paid in full to receive ANY digital images. Orders are custom made and are non-refundable.

How long do you keep my image files?

Non-ordered images are removed from our system following your ordering appointment – we do not archive files which are not ordered.  All ordered images are archived for a period of 3 years.

What if I need to reschedule my session?

We understand that unexpected events come up, whether due to illness, weather, travel delays or emergencies. If you need to reschedule, please call us as soon as possible (at least 24-48 hours in advance). While our session fees are non-refundable, you may use it for a one-time reschedule (if called within the 24-48 hour window) to be scheduled within 6 months of your original appointment date.

What if I want to make a copy of my image?
